On February 18, 2007 Diane hosted a Novice clinic. The first 2 hours was a lecture and a potluck. The afternoon session was Novice runs. The handlers either ran their dogs or *rented* Tess for their runs.The Novice run was a 100 yard outrun, lift and fetch to the post. settle the sheep and pen in a three sided pen. The sheep were not used to being penned and were very reactive. The handlers learned quickly to stop or slow down their dogs at the lift, otherwise the sheep would bolt down the field. The handlers learned to be quiet, calm and have lots of patience when penning.
